Wenig Funeral Home - OostburgDonna M. Lubbers, 87, passed away Monday morning, October 13, 2025 at Pine Haven Christian Communities in Sheboygan Falls.
Donna was born April 25, 1938, the daughter of Walter and Edna (Roerdink) Mentink. She attended Beaver Creek Elementary School and graduated from Oostburg High School in 1956.
On June 28, 1957 she was united in marriage with Wayne Lubbers in Oostburg. They celebrated 55 years together before his passing in 2012.
She was employed at Montgomery Ward, in the office at Vollrath, and later for the Sheboygan School System until moving to Florida in 1990. There, she worked at the Montessori School, and at several Public Schools in Leesburg, FL. She dedicated a combined 35 years in Sheboygan and Lake County, FL working with special education children.
While in Florida, she served as an Elder at the First Presbyterian Church in Leesburg. In Wisconsin, she was a member of the Sheboygan Christian High School Booster Club.
She loved traveling to the lower 48 states, boating, motorcycling, camping, reading and doing crosswords. She was an excellent singer who enjoyed singing with the church choir and doing solos. She was a loving wife and mother, and proud grandma and great-grandma who will be dearly missed.
Donna is survived by her daughter, Sherry (Rick) Rammer of Sheboygan Falls; her son, Roger (Judy) Lubbers of Sheboygan Falls; four grandchildren, Amanda (Ryan) Groh, Kelly Possamai, Nick (Brianna) Lubbers, and Brenda (Jarod) McCoy; 8 great-grandchildren; sister Delores “Lori” Roethel; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Wayne, her parents and brothers- and sisters-in-law.
A memorial service to celebrate Donna’s life will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 8 at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg with Pastor Brian Taylor officiating. She will be laid to rest at Gibbsville Cemetery beside Wayne. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00am-12:00 noon.
Memorials are suggested in her name to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
