Diane Frances Lightfeather "Gaa zhee gwa nay shiig Anangiizi me gwon" age 75 of Duluth, MN passed away peacefully on August 20, 2023. She was born on June 8, 1948 to parents, Harry Lightfeather Sr. & Molly Anderson (Wahwegon). Diane loved to travel, and lived in a few different cities throughout her life, including Embarrass, Minneapolis, and Duluth. She worked at Fond du Lac Woman’s shelter. In her free time you could find Diane at the casino. She is preceded in death by her parents, sons, Joseph & Michael Lightfeather; daughter, Sheryl Smith; brothers, Harold, Erine, & Harry Lightfeather, Brian Anderson, Leonard, Norman, and Jerry Lightfeather; sisters, Beverly Lightfeather-Miller & Karen Shores; and her life-partner for over 30 years, James Keegan.
She is survived by daughters, Susan (Anthony) Battees, JoAnne Smith, and Sandra Lightfeather; sister, Harriet (Mike) Cordero, Martha Anderson, Ruth (Martin) Anderson; brothers, Elroy Lightfeather, George (Mabeline) Anderson, Aaron, and Ken (Amber) Lightfeather; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: Wednesday, August 23, 2023, from noon-2:00 p.m. at Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E Second Street, Duluth, MN 55805.
VISITATION: Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at the Lake Vermillion Community Center, 1610 Farm Rd., Tower, MN 55790 starting at 5:00 p.m. and lasting until the Traditional Service on Thursday morning.
