Diane Marie Olds, age 80, of Outing, passed away on October 25, 2025, at the Heartwood Care Center in Crosby. She was born on December 24, 1944, in St. Paul to Max and Susan (Brenhofer) Skweres. Diane was united in marriage to Roger Olds on January 7, 1967, in St. Paul.
Diane was a devoted member of St. Emily's Catholic Church in Emily, where she worshipped faithfully for decades after she and Roger were married. Over the years, she worked as a waitress at Vern's Café in Outing, served as a long-time Clerk and Fire Warden for Beulah Township, and volunteered with the Emily Food Shelf. She was well known in the Outing community for her festive home decorations and for hosting family and friends during hunting season each year.
Diane was deeply devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Every holiday was celebrated with nostalgic decorations, homemade treats, and countless family photos. Though her birthday fell on Christmas Eve, Diane always made sure the season was magical for everyone else. She created many beloved family traditions, including "chicken night," a gathering no one wanted to miss. Her homemade pickles remain the family favorite, and her beautiful crochet creations will be treasured for years to come.
Diane's faith was strong, and her family finds peace in knowing she has been reunited with the love of her life in her eternal home.
Diane is survived by her sons, Brian (Becky) Olds of Outing and Dennis Olds of Chanhassen; her twin brother, Richard (Patty) Skweres of New Richmond, Wisconsin; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Roger, in 2012.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at St. Emily's Catholic Church in Emily. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Emily. Arrangements are with Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
