Diane Elizabeth Ryles Perez, affectionately known as "Liz", was born on October 11, 1954, in Miami, Florida. She was the second daughter and fifth child of the fourteen children of Rosa Lee Ryles and the late Tommie Lee Ryles.

She grew up surrounded by a close-knit community that was more than just neighbors-they were extended family. Her childhood was filled with the joy of shared holidays, laughter-filled family gatherings, and a neighborhood bond that has endured through generations.

Diane received her education through the Miami Dade Public School System. Attending Frank C. Martin Elementary School, Richmond Heights Middle School, and Miami Killian Senior High School.

In her early adult years, she married Lawrence Miles and was blessed with two sons, Lawrence Jr. and Eric. The family lived in Hampton, Virginia. Years later she moved back to Miami to be with family.

Diane held various positions in the medical field while living in Virginia and Miami. Some of these positions are nursing assistant, caretaker, and environmental services. Since she worked in many areas of medicine, she earned certificates in those areas.

She accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age. You could find Diane reading her bible throughout the day. She was a woman deeply rooted in faith. Diane maintained her spiritual walk through the years connecting with various church homes while in Virginia and Miami.

While courageously battling cancer and many surgeries, Diane was still able to assist her family in caring for their mother. Diane would cook meals and give companionship to her mother.

On Tuesday, October 14, 2025, God called Diane home to eternal rest. The pain of losing a family member is immeasurable, but we find solace in knowing that Diane is with her and our Lord and Savior. She now joins her loved ones who preceded her in death: her grandparents, father, siblings: Doretha, Jimmie, and Isaiah.

She leaves to cherish precious memories and love: her beloved mother Rosa Lee Ryles; sons: Lawrence Miles Jr. (Kendra) and Eric Miles (Yizrel); grandchildren: Ethan Miles, Audrey Miles, Tiphani Miles, Melanie Miles, Enzo Miles, Lisavette, and John; brothers: Edward Faison, Sammy Faison, Kenneth Ryles (Valerie), and David Ryles (Gloria); sisters: Thomasina Crawford (George), and Jennie Dozier (Alan); a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
