Diane Powell was born on February 20, 1952 in Florence, Alabama, the daughter of the late Harley and Margaret Broyles.
On August 9, 1975, she was united in marriage to Gary R. Powell, who survives.
Diane retired from the Hardin County Government after 23 years, where she worked as a Deputy Court Clerk. She previously worked for Shull Truck Line in Savannah, Tennessee for 12 years and the Hardin County School System for 20 years.
Diane was a member of Riverview Baptist Church in Savannah, Tennessee and she loved her Riverview church family and singing in the choir there. She loved singing Southern Gospel music and sang in 2 quartets.
Diane was a great wife, loving mother and grandmother, and a wonderful friend to many. She loved her family dearly and supported them in every endeavor. Her most important job in life was given to her when she became "Mimi" to her granddaughter, Alexis Nicole Brock. She adored Alexis and was so proud to be her grandmother.
Diane Powell departed this life on January 20, 2024 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 71 years and 11 months.
She is survived by her husband, Gary R. Powell of Savannah, Tennessee; daughter, Amber Suzanne Powell Brock and her husband Nick of Savannah, Tennessee; sister-in-law, who was more like her sister, Darlene Powell of Parsons, Tennessee; and her precious granddaughter, Alexis Nicole Brock of Savannah, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Harry William and Beatrice Lizabeth House Broyles and maternal grandparents, Elva and Evelyn Copeland Franks Baugus.
