Collinsville, Illinois - Diane Ida Riling, nee Guilleman, age 76, passed away June 6, 2023 in her Collinsville home, surrounded by her family.
Diane was born October 14, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan to Alvin "Buck" and Margaret, nee Eberhardt, Guilleman. Her family moved to Wyandotte, Michigan shortly after her birth where she resided until marriage. She graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in 1965 and then attended Michigan State University and graduated with a Bachelor of English in 1969. She was a proud Spartan!
Diane married Jackson Riling, Jr. on August 23, 1969 and began a life together full of love. She started her career in the Western Michigan University Library while Jack finished his education. When Jack entered the Air Force in 1970, she spent her life supporting his mission while serving in various positions with AAFES, retiring as an accountant and raising their daughter.
Diane had a love of music, ballet and handcrafts. She danced and played the violin from childhood, enjoyed singing and lately playing hand bells. She spent many hours crocheting, sewing and making cards to uplift the people around her.
Diane was a secure and caring presence in the life of her husband, daughter, and grandchildren. She treasured time spent with family, her grandbabies, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are her husband Jackson Riling, Jr. of Collinsville, Illinois; daughter Beth (Scott) Schuck of Shiloh, Illinois; and grandchildren Avery, Amelia, Alice and Scott.

Visitation will begin at 12:30 pm, Friday, June 16, 2023 at Faith Lutheran Church, 520 E. US Highway 50, O'Fallon, Illinois, with a Memorial Service to follow at 1:30 pm, with Rev. Candice Wassell officiating.
