Diane Marie Spangler, age 75, of Akron, passed away on December 29, 2024 at Arden Courts of Bath. She was born on June 10, 1949 to the late Maurice and Mable Spangler in Somerset, PA. 

Diane worked many years as the head cake decorator for Giant Eagle before her retirement. 

She was a faithful member of Friendship Bible Church. Diane enjoyed many things but especially golfing, bowling, fishing, watching Wheel of Fortune and Family Feud and gardening. Most importantly though, Diane loved her family and friends and she cherished the time she spent with them. She will be loved and remembered always. 

Diane is survived by her loving sisters, Sandra Vaughn and Ann Guivas; nieces and nephews, Amber, Christian, Raymond, Danielle, Marcy, Mary, Amanda, Nikki and Maria; great-nieces and great-nephews, Nathanael, Jathan, Ashley, Joshua, Kaydence, Autumn and Lillith-Ann; great-great-niece and great-great-nephews, Kaylanie, Kaizer and Kyro; as well as many cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Forest "Duke" and Maurice "Nib" Spangler; and special friend, Phyllis Hoskins.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44305) on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 4pm until 6pm. Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 10:30am. Immediately following her service, she will be laid to rest at Hillside Memorial Park (1025 Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44312). 

Memorials in Diane's name are suggested to a local Goodwill of your choice.
