Diane Kay Wagers, 77, of Fredericksburg passed away at home on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025.
Diane was born on March 25, 1948, in Millersburg to Arthur and Martha (Miller) Hoxworth and was a 1966 graduate of West Holmes High School. On June 5, 1966, she married Gary Lee Wagers and they shared 53 years together until his death on Oct. 23, 2019. Diane had worked at Robin Industries and had been active in the Fredericksburg Community. She served with Fredericksburg Fire Dept. Auxiliary, served on Fredericksburg Board of Trade and was a co-chairperson of the Fredericksburg Homecoming with Gary. In 1999 they were honored as “Citizens of the Year” at the annual Homecoming. Diane was always involved in PTO and school activities, and she enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s school and sporting events. Diane enjoyed gardening, freezing and canning for her family and she truly enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughters and their partners, Sheila Wells and Terry Miller and Lora Wagers and Justin Rice; daughter-in-law, Brenda Wagers; grandchildren, Ryan (Ashlee) Wells, Abby (Daleno Martin) Wells, Clay (Mia Lewis) Wagers and Morgan Amos; great-grandchildren, Kylie Young, Avery and Wesley Wells, Mila Martin and Malia Wagers; brothers and sister, Art (Rick Gardzalla) Hoxworth, Ken Hoxworth, Gary (the late Marcia) Hoxworth and Gayle (Lee) Miller; sisters-in-law, Martha (Richard) Wagers, Marilyn (Ivan) Ott, Karen (Homer) Sidle and Genny Wagers and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary; son, Brian L. Wagers on July 28, 2000; her parents and a sister-in-law, Kay Franks.
Friend will be received on Saturday, Dec. 20th from 2-4 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg. Burial will be private at Fredericksburg East Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to South Central Fire District, 288 N. Mill St., Fredericksburg, OH 44627.
