Wilda Marie McDaniel, 93, of Wooster, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Brookdale Memory Care in Wooster.
Wilda was born on Feb. 16, 1933, on the family farm near Fredericksburg to Robert and Hazel (Johnson) Bricker and was a 1951 graduate of Fredericksburg High School. On June 27, 1954, she married Charles T. McDaniel and Chuck preceded her in death on July 19, 2011.
Wilda had worked for many years at Wayne County National Bank and later had been a real-estate agent for several companies in Wooster including Dunham, Taylor, and Silver Realtors.
Wilda was a member of the Parkview Christian Church in Wooster where she had served on the Caring Team and where she would sit with her friends, known as “The Pew Ladies”.
She was a farm girl at heart who could grow anything and was a longtime member of the Weed-A-Way Garden Club. With her green thumb and her creative skills, she exhibited at the Wayne County Fair for many years. Wilda was a founding member of the Mother’s Club in Wooster that met for decades, and she loved attending her family’s school activities and events.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Philip and Antoinette McDaniel of Rocky River; daughter and son-in-law, Lee Anna and Robert Zerrer of Wooster; grandchildren and their spouses, Nina Zerrer and her husband Michael Hewitt, Anthony and Sarah Zerrer, Amanda Zerrer, Jacob Zerrer, Anna Zerrer, Andrew and Abi McDaniel, Ellen McDaniel and husband Joel Kelly, Evan “Charlie” and Grace McDaniel and Gisela McDaniel; 3 great-grandchildren, Roman and Breccan Zerrer-Hewitt and Josephina Zerrer and nieces and nephews.
Wilda was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, son, Timothy McDaniel, brother, James Bricker and sisters, Doris Shaw Koenig and Ruth Wagner.
Services will be Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg with Rev. Jeremiah Scadden officiating. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. There will be a reception following the burial from 4-6 p.m. at Parkview Christian Church Wooster. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Parkview Church of Christ, Burbank Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
The family extends their deepest appreciation to the staff at Brookdale Memory Care for the wonderful care given to their Mother and Grandmother and to the members of Parkview Church for their love and support of Wilda.
