Dianna R. Phelps (80) of Nevada, MO, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, August 15, 2025, with nieces Sue and Lynerica by her side.

Dianna was born to Sherman R. Phelps and Helen L. Cheatum on June 24, 1945, in Salem, Illinois. Dianna grew up in Kansas City, MO, where she dropped out of school to help care for the home, later moving to Nevada with her parents to help care for them until their passing. She was proud that in 2005 she was able to get her High School Diploma by completing online classes.

Dianna worked at Golden Corral for over 25 years, later retiring from working in the kitchen at NRMC. Dianna also was known to babysit several kids over the years, at one time having 13 kids that she took on outings to movies and business tours.

Dianna loved Elvis, watching WWE, and westerns. She loved arts and crafts, making homemade Christmas gifts every year. Summers were often spent with nieces and nephews camped out in her bedroom, listening to records and 8-track tapes.

Dianna is survived by two brothers, Jimmy Phelps (Tammy), Nevada, MO, and Richard Phelps, Kansas City, MO; her grandchildren Addaleena, Remington, Emmie-Lou, and their mother Destiny Hillier; her longtime caregiver Twila Holmes; several nieces and nephews, greats, and great-greats; and several cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, three sisters, and a niece.

A private family committal will be held at a later date.
