Miss Dianna Lee Powers, age 67, of Markland, Indiana, entered this life on November 10, 1954 in Batesville, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late, Albert Owen and Jerri Ann (Scranton) Powers. She was raised in Switzerland County, Indiana on the family farm and was a 1972 graduate of the Switzerland County High School. Dianna loved taking care of her horse and tending to the family farm with her brothers. Dianna received her bachelor's degree in telecommunications and a minor in psychology from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. She was employed for McDonald's in Chicago and later moved back to the Switzerland County community. She was employed for Olan Mills for several years where she enjoyed taking pictures and traveling all over. She was later employed for the Switzerland County School Corporation where she painted murals for the Jeff-Craig Elementary School. Dianna was later employed for the Madison State Hospital and retired after several years of service. In her younger years, Dianna loved hunting and going to Pensacola Beach in Florida with her family. Dianna also enjoyed fishing, gardening, painting, art and Star Trek. Dianna attended the Madison Salvation Army Worship Center in Madison, Indiana. Dianna passed away at 1:58 p.m., Sunday, September 18, 2022, at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, Kentucky.
Dianna is survived by her brothers, Albert Powers, Jr. and his wife, Angela of Vevay, IN, Mark Powers and his wife, Patty of Madison, IN and Michael Powers and his wife, Kandy of Madison, IN; her nieces and nephews, Ashley Powers, Emily Lovins and her husband, Troy, Braxton Powers and his wife, Sammy, Coltin Powers and his wife, Katie, Amber Powers, Andrew Powers and Courtney Powers and her fiancé, Jastyn Bradford; her great-nieces and nephews, Harlan, Woodrow, Reba and Adalynn; her aunts and uncles, Lulu Belle and Donald Thomas, Donald and Wanda Scranton and Harold Scranton and her several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Owen Powers, Sr. and Jerrie Ann (Scranton) Powers; her brother, Dennis Powers; her niece, Danielle Nicole Powers; her grandparents, James G. and Anna M. (Ray) Scranton and Carl & Beulah (Wainscott) Powers; her aunts and uncles, Carl Powers, Omer Powers, Georgia Powell-McDole, Grace Gentry, Lonnie Gentry, June Gentry, Norma Jean Robinson, Ruby Rowlett and Robert Scranton and her sister-in-law, Annetta "Bernice" Powers.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 22, 2022, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 22, 2022, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens in Madison, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or Charity of the Donor's Choice. Cards are available at the funeral home or online at www.haskellandmorrison.com
