Elizabeth "Betty" Powers (née Hendrykowski) Age 91, of Shelby Township, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 5, 2026. Betty was born on September 18, 1934, in Hamtramck, Michigan, to the late Ignatius and Cecelia (née Pruss) Hendrykowski. She was the beloved wife of Richard "Ken" Powers and a devoted, loving mother to Ruth Ellen (Doug) Young, Kathleen (Richard) Delfs, Mary Lynn (the late Alan) Hart, and Mark (Anita) Chase. She was preceded in death by her cherished son, Keith Matthew Chase. A proud and loving grandmother to numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Betty had a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures. She loved to travel-especially to Georgia-and took great pride in her collections of depression glass and snow babies. An avid gardener with a passion for flowering plants, she found peace in tending to her garden. Fishing was another favorite pastime, where she happily spent many cherished days enjoying the outdoors. Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Betty's life at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road (3 blocks east of Van Dyke), Utica, on Monday, February 9, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a funeral service at 4:30 p.m. Interment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly Township, Michigan. In memory of Betty, memorial donations may be made to Premier Hospice 33259 Dequindre Road, Suite C, Troy, MI 48083
