Dianna "Beth" Usry
In Loving Memory of a Life Joyfully and Vocally Lived
Dianna "Beth" Usry was born on February 10, 1950, in a small house in Cushing, Texas. She left this world on November 29, 2025, at her home in Dallas, surrounded by the boundless love of her family. She was the beloved daughter of Troy and Beulah Whitton.
Beth is survived by her husband, William Burt Usry; her daughter and son-in-law-whom she lovingly called her "favorite child"-Cheri and Chris Whitley; her son, William Burt Usry; and her two precious grandsons, Ryan and Brandon Whitley. She is also survived by her sisters Linda Richardson and Kathy Monroe; her sister-in-law Vicie Shepard; her brother-in-law Frank Usry; numerous nieces and nephews; and her devoted dog, Biskit, who rarely left her side.
We gather to celebrate the life of a remarkable woman-a woman known to all simply as Beth, Mama, or Nanny Beth-whose spirit filled every space she entered. A pitch-perfect singer with a lifelong love of harmony, she never hesitated to break into song, often coaxing others to join in with her bright and effortless voice. Whether gliding across a dance floor or dancing her way through her home, she moved with a joy that was irresistible-light-footed, free, and full of life.
Many of her happiest moments were spent outdoors, mowing under the warm Texas sun, breathing in the clean scent of fresh-cut grass, or tending to flowers with her beloved "purple thumb." She had a gift for turning ordinary tasks into moments of beauty, peace, and quiet satisfaction. Ever true to her own style, she was rarely seen without a dress and boots-sparkles encouraged, if not required-an unmistakable combination that reflected who she was: strong, grounded, and unmistakably herself.
Beth cherished her family above all else. She was a devoted wife, a loving Mama, a proud and joyful Nanny Beth, and a sister whose love was unwavering and deep. Her humor was quick, her wit sharp, and her timing perfect-able to turn even the heaviest moment into one softened by laughter. And when she laughed-those big, bellowing, unforgettable laughs-everyone around her laughed too. Her joy was contagious; her presence unforgettable.
After many devoted years of service, Beth retired from Southwestern Bell at the age of 49, leaving behind three decades of loyal and dedicated work. Her colleagues admired her commitment, her warmth, and her ability to brighten even the most exhausting days.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Todd Aguilera for going to the ends of the earth to find ways to extend Beth's life and give us 33 precious, beautiful months. His compassion and determination granted our family time we will forever hold close to our hearts.
A special thank you to Debbie Fain for helping care for Beth with such tenderness, and for surrounding our family with her love and amazing friendship. Her support meant more than words can express.
Beth leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and authenticity-a life lived fully, honestly, and joyfully. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit, her voice, and her laughter will echo in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
May her memory continue to sing among us.
