Dianna Walker Obituary

COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Dianna Walker, beloved mother and grandmother, dedicated worker, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday October 26, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on March 13, 1947, in Cookeville, TN, Dianna was a woman of great warmth and compassion, whose efforts to uplift and support those around her defined her life.

Dianna proudly served as a Union Representative for the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union for many years, where her commitment to advocating for workers' rights left an indelible mark on many lives. In addition to her valued role in the union, she also spent a few precious years at Russell Stover's Candies, where her friendly demeanor and infectious laughter brought joy to her colleagues.

Dianna was particularly proud to have obtained her GED alongside her granddaughter, a testament to her belief in lifelong learning and role modeling for future generations. Known for her engaging personality, she was endowed with a great sense of humor that delighted friends and family alike. Dianna was hardworking and compassionate, always willing to accept others for who they were. Her loving, giving nature consistently put others before herself.

As a wonderful grandmother, Dianna was described by her family as the best. She took immense joy in her grandchildren, including Tony Edward Walker, Sarah Diane (Ben) Cole, Tabathia Ray (Brandon Banks), and Lashana Gorman and her great grandchildren, Sierra Ray Walker, Katrina Rayann Crabtree, Madisyn Banks and Scarlett Banks, and Kathryn, Trinity, and Damian Gorman. Dianna also shared an unbreakable bond with her son, Tony C. (Krystal) Walker, providing unwavering support and warmth throughout his life.

Dianna is survived by her son, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brother James David (Candy) Norris, sister Kathleen (Glen Michael) Russell, and several nieces, nephews, loved ones and by a special friend, John Schmidt. She was predeceased by her parents, Dolan Norris and Louise Cleghorn Norris, and her ex-husband, Willie Clinton Walker.

A woman of faith, Dianna attended Baptist churches, which guided her throughout her journey. In her free time, she found solace and joy in painting, often drawing inspiration from Bob Ross, whose creations mirrored her vibrant spirit.

As we gather to celebrate the life of a truly remarkable woman, friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on November 1, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper, Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home.
