Cedar City, Utah – Dianne Esplin Davis passed away in the early morning of February 28, 2025, just after celebrating her 90th birthday. She was born February 25, 1935, in Hurricane, Utah to William H and Mary Vernona Esplin. Dianne married Gary Oleen Davis in Kanarraville, Utah on November 19, 1951, and their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple on March 1, 1956. Together they raised two wonderful children, Gary Allen Davis and TaMara Henderson. They also adopted their beloved great-grandson, Dallin Gary Davis.
Dianne spent her early years in Hurricane, Utah before moving to a farm in Kanarraville at the age of 12. Her parents managed Dr. Graff's farm, where she created many cherished memories. Growing up on the farm she developed a deep love for animals. She began babysitting at just 10 years old and graduated from Cedar High School.
Dianne was a naturally crafty person with a passion for sewing, painting, cooking and creating floral arrangements. She worked as a cashier at Woolworths Department Store, Foodtown and Safeway before transitioning to a florist position at Lin's Grocery Store.
Throughout her life, Dianne served in many church callings, though her favorite by far was being a Cub Scout leader for several years -an experience she truly treasured. She also had a love for square dancing and bowling, participating in several leagues and winning state tournaments.
Dianne cherished family trips, especially those spent in the mountains, and held a special place in her heart for her family's Kolob Spendlove Ranch. Above all she adored her grandchildren and played a significant role in raising many of them, earning the affectionate title of "adopted grandma".
Dianne is survived by her sons, Gary Allen (Carolynn) Davis and Dallin Gary (Jaylee) Davis; her daughter, TaMara (Mike) Henderson; her brothers: Ken W. Esplin and John M. Esplin; 12 of her grandchildren; and many great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary; her parents, William and Venona; her sister, Jeannine Bringhurst; her granddaughters: Tani Jo and Tona Dianne; her grandson, Chris Davis; her great-grandson, Shawn Heaton; and her great-great-grandson, Ju-tin Heaton.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Three Peaks Assisted Living for the loving care and support they provided to Dianne during her time there. Your compassion and dedication will always be remembered.
