Dianne Stephana Gill, age 89, of Stockbridge, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. She was born in Boston, Massachusetts, to the late Stephen J. Claughton and Louise E. Camuso. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Richard Henry Gill.
Mrs. Gill is survived by her daughters, Jennifer D. Gill, Elizabeth (Ken) Stallings; son, Richard S. (Erika) Gill; grandchildren, Melissa (Jason) Hendrix, William, Kimberly, and Sarah Stallings; great-grandchildren, Alexis and Jason Fales, Gavin Hendrix; and her cat, Duffy.
Our beautiful Mom, devoted Nana, and friend to many with an infectious laugh and a warm smile has been reunited with our Dad. She was a true force of nature. She was a daughter, sister, cousin, wife, Auntie, mother, and friend. She started nursing school at 16, was a homemaker, and then worked as a labor and delivery nurse. She helped take care of her siblings at a young age, helped those in need, helped friends and family, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She had a kind personality, was a fierce protector, traveled the world, and did it with a servant heart. She knit, she crocheted, and she sewed. She made clothes and jackets, she made scarves for the homeless, and she provided family and friends with stunning handmade gifts. She loved cooking and trying new recipes. She cooked for family and friends as well as baked meals for her church and Thanksgiving turkeys for those in need. She never judged, gave great advice, saw things through a unique lens, and had a kind and loving heart. We are better from having known her. Her nurturing spirit and boundless love enriched the lives of all who knew her. She was a living angel while alive and has been reunited with our dad, family and friends, and the Lord. We will miss her greatly, but we know we will see her again.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at St. James The Apostle Catholic Church with Father Liam Coyne officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors. Those who wish may sign the online guest registry at www.cannonclevelandfunerals.com. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, 770-914-1414.
