Richard E. "Dick" Staeven, 88, De Pere, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, September 3, 2025. He was born October 1, 1936, son of the late Earl and Blanche (Borman) Staeven.

Dick was a graduate of Nicolet High School. He served his country in the Army Reserve for six years.

On April 30, 1960, he was united in marriage to Donna Schmitz at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Van's Valley.

An avid outdoorsman, whether hunting, fishing, camping, or in his later years, golfing, Dick enjoyed them all. He and Donna enjoyed "road trips" to many places. Family always came first though, and spending time with them is what he enjoyed the most.

Brothers and sisters-in-law; Betty Staeven, David Schmitz, Dale Schmitz, Dennis (Rebecca) Schmitz, Gary (Robin) Schmitz, Rick (Gail) Schmitz, Darrell (Sandy) Schmitz, and Randy Schmitz, as well a many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Kelly Garrity, infant daughter Kathleen, and sister Jane Nohr, brother Ken Staeven, and brother-in-law Larry Schmitz.

Friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere from 2:00PM – 7:00PM Monday, September 8, 2025. A service for Dick will take place at 5:30PM with Fr. Mike Ingold officiating.
