Diego Hernandez Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Seydler-Hill Funeral Home - Gonzales on Dec. 19, 2025.

Diego Armando Hernandez, 22, of Gonzales, passed away unexpectedly in a motorcycle accident on Saturday, December 13, 2025. He was born on December 2, 2003, in Bulverde, Texas, to Rocio (Sanchez) Hernandez and Diego Fabian Hernandez.
Diego attended school in Gonzales from pre-kindergarten through his high school graduation in 2021. A promising and dedicated student, he participated in the Gifted and Talented (G.T.) program and was an accomplished band member, playing both the clarinet and bass clarinet. Alongside his academic achievements, Diego was a committed athlete, participating in powerlifting, track, and football while also completing dual-credit and honors courses. His ambitions knew no limits, and he worked tirelessly toward every goal he set for himself. Diego was blessed with an incredible support system at home, and his parents encouraged and supported him in all his accomplishments.
Diego enjoyed reading, playing video games on his PC, spending time with friends, and caring for his beloved cats and dogs-having had many pets throughout his life. He also enjoyed riding horses, especially his favorite horse, Barbie.
Quick to learn and eager for new experiences, Diego embraced new hobbies and had a true heart for adventure and thrill-seeking. He loved trying new foods and exploring new places. Asian cuisine was a favorite, but Mexican food always held a special place in his heart-especially tamales. His last places of employment were H-E-B and Buccees. Social by nature, Diego greeted everyone with a smile and spread kindness wherever he went.
Family was extremely important to Diego. He was proud of his Mexican American roots and deeply appreciative of his parents for their constant love and support. Above all, Diego cherished his family and his faith in God. Though his life was far too short, he leaves behind a lasting and beautiful memory in the hearts of all who knew him.
Diego is survived by his parents, Rocio and Diego Hernandez; his fiancée, Leslie Borjon; his grandmothers, Josefina Carrillo, Obdulia Alvarez, and Juana Carrillo; and his aunts and uncles: Mariela Sanchez (Juan Carlos Bernal), Janeth Sanchez (Miguel Rico), Jesus Hernandez (Patricia Cardona), Wilfrido Vargas (Estela Monsivais), Ricardo Vargas (Rosa Esparza), Maria Luisa Vargas (Heriberto Segovia), Juan Hernandez (Carmen Hernandez), Juan Hernandez, and Erika Hernandez (Oscar Robles).
