Dillon Murchison

Henry Dillon Murchison, II Dillon was born on February 27, 1947, in Alexandria, Louisiana, to parents Julian Truett Murchison Sr and Annie Laurie Liddell Murchison. He passed away on August 6, 2025, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was 78 years old.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Finance from Louisiana Tech University. Where he served as treasurer of Pi Kappa Alpha. He went on to earn a Juris Doctor (JD) from Louisiana State University in 1974. Proudly serving on the board of Security 1st National Bank in Alexandria, Louisiana for thirteen years, where his father worked as President of the bank. He went on to spend the majority of his career working as an oil and gas attorney, within both the corporate and self-employed capacity.
He will be remembered for his love of storytelling, history, and took great joy in keeping up with friends and family over social media. He was especially fond of Tom Clancy novels and watching episodes of the West Wing. He was a long-time member of the Gideons International of Shreveport and First Baptist Church Shreveport.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 35 years, Nancy Maxwell Murchison, and his children and their spouses; Trent Dillon Murchison and wife Karen Murchison of Little Rock, AR, Chandler Maxwell Murchison of Ruston, LA. Dillon had two grandchildren Simon H. Murchison and Levi J. Murchison of Little Rock, AR.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Julian Truett Murchison Sr and Annie Laurie Liddell Murchison, as well as his brother, Julian Truett "Murk" Murchison Jr.
