In Loving Memory of

Dina Kay Koehler

June 24, 1950 - August 26,

Beloved Wife, Mother, Nana, and Friend

Dina Kay Koehler turned 75 years old in June, of 2025. She and her husband

Don lived in Portland their entire 54 years of marriage. She died on Tuesday,

August 26, 2025, at Providence Medical Center in Portland, Oregon.

Dina was born to Alleen and James Richard Brown on June 24, 1950, in Brevard,

North Carolina. She was the first of three children. She married Donald Koehler

in April of 1971 and they had their first daughter Carissa in July of the next year.

Their second daughter, Casandra was born in January of 1975.

Dina was a stay at home mom, caring for her daughters until rejoining the work

force as a Child Support Case Manager for the Oregon Department of Justice

until she retired in 2016. While working a full-time job, she completed her

Certificate of Philosophy in Biblical Studies and later returned to college to

complete an Associate's Degree in Computer Science.

Family activities included bowling with a league at Pro 300 and spending many

weekends camping, in tents and then a camper, exploring all over Oregon. The

Mt. Hood National Forest, Olallie Lake Scenic Area, and Clackamas River were a

few of her favorite places to go camping. She and Don loved to take trips to the

Oregon Coast, often going more than once per year. She loved to sew while

creating clothing for her family. The many clothes she created have included a

suit for Don, school clothes for her girls, Hawaiian shirts, a prom dress, a

wedding veil, and many other amazing pieces. She enjoyed spending time

crocheting and fashioning full sized tablecloths out of tiny crochet thread for her

family and friends. Over the last few years, she concentrated on her cross stitch

creations, making many beautiful works of art.

Dina is survived by her husband Donald Koehler, daughters Carissa Love and

Casandra Hylton, seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She is also

survived by her sister Donna Woodering and brother Dick Brown.
