Dionisio Alberto Chavez, aged 59, of Elgin, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. Born on October 9, 1965, in Chihuahua, Mexico, he was the son of Maria Cruz Ceballos and Hermenegildo Chavez. He was raised in Las Viboras, Durango, Mexico, until the age of 15, when his family relocated to Los Angeles, California. Eventually, Dionisio settled in Texas, where he made Elgin his home.
Dionisio dedicated his life to his work as a contractor, taking pride in his ability to build quality fences across Central Texas. His commitment to his profession was matched only by his devotion to family. He cherished opportunities to spend time with his loved ones, enjoying trips to the beach and visits to Mexico. One of his greatest joys was gathering with family and friends for games of pool.
He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Vicente, Valentin, and Jesus Chavez. Dionisio is survived by his children, Valentin Alberto, Sandra Jamilet, Karen Aimee, and Xavier Alberto Chavez; his treasured grandchildren, Jazmin, Nabor Jr., Dayer, Natalie, Alberto, Juliet, Julian, Liam, and Valentina; his brothers, Santiago, Alfonso, Armando, and Marcos; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and close friends who will remember him fondly.
A visitation will be held at the Family Residence on Thursday, September 4th, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather at Elgin Funeral Home on Friday, September 5th, at 2:00 PM for the Holy Rosary, followed by the Liturgy of the Word. Inurnment will be private.
Dionisio’s spirit and love for his family will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
