Dixie Worth Allender, 86, of Beverly, Ohio, went to her home in heaven to be with her Lord on Monday, August, 11, 2025 at her home. She was born on December 18, 1938 in Danville, Ohio, daughter of Mel and Edith Barnes Worth. Dixie graduated from Cambridge High School in 1957 and on July 9, 1957 she married her High School sweetheart, Bob Allender and together they had three daughters, Kim Hopkins and husband Bud, Jill Skinner and husband Vernon and Lisa Riley and husband Steve. She had worked in the Fort Frye High School Library for 8 years and First Settlement Square clothing store in Marietta for 21 years. Her greatest joy was her family and she found great joy in her life through the Lord and her children and grandchildren. She loved sewing and had made many of her children's clothes as they were growing up and many quilt tops. Reading her Bible was something she did every morning and cooking, baking and having her family in for the holidays was a fun time for everyone. Dixie enjoyed going to her grandchildren's sporting events and was something she and Bob loved doing. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Waterford. In addition to her children she is survived by her grandchildren, Tara Wetz and husband Evan, Brandon Skinner and wife Cassie, Wes Riley and wife Alex and Braden Riley and wife Michele; great grandchildren, Sydney and Taytum Skinner. Through her childrens growing up years they spent every summer going to Myrtle Beach and lots of other vacations. Her life was so good and she felt so blessed on this earth but was ready to go home to her best friend and Saviour Jesus. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob "Allender who died on November 25, 2022; her parents; a brother, Sidney and a sister, Betty.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at The Church of the Nazarene in Waterford with Pastor Garrett Russell officiating with burial in the Beverly Cemetery. Friends may call 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Thursday at the church. McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly is in charge of the arrangements.
