Peoria, AZ – Dixie Rose Mower Horspool passed away peacefully, on July 2, 2023 at her residence.
She was born on April 8, 1938, in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Dale Lorin Mower and Rosella R. Barnett Mower. She was a graduate of Ben Lomond H.S. in 1956.
Dixie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved serving others and working at the Concord, CA Employment Center as a service missionary.
She married Leslie Ray Horspool on January 29, 1960, in Ogden, Utah.
She lived for 34 years in Hermosa Beach, CA. She taught adult education, specifically computer software and office skills for 20 years. She moved to Concord, CA in 2002 to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren, residing there for 17 years. She moved with her daughter in 2019 to Peoria, AZ where she lived in an independent living community. She could always be found with M&M’s in her pockets and willing to share with anyone.
Dixie is survived by her son, Steven Horspool and daughter, Stephanie Lambertson; her four grandchildren Christina Pace (Daniel), Jennifer Wright (Trent), Sherry Lacy (Colton) and David Lambertson; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leslie Horspool; and son-in-law, Dale Lambertson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2023, at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 W 5600 S.
Interment, West Weber Cemetery.
