Dixie Lee Price, 85, of Wyanet passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Liberty Village in Princeton. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose warmth and generosity touched the lives of many.
Dixie was born on September 28, 1939 in Springfield, Ohio the daughter of John and Jean (Wyatt) Anthony. She graduated from Wyanet High School and married Melvin Price on March 8, 1959 at the Wyanet United Methodist Church. He proceeded her in death on January 1, 2022.
Dixie was a lifelong member of the Wyanet United Methodist Church and enjoyed attending and helping with a variety of church, school, and community activities. Dixie was a familiar face at countless school events and horse shows, always cheering enthusiastically for her loved ones.
Survivors include her four children, Paula (Todd) Gustafson of Wyanet, Tammy (Buzz) Gustafson of Wyanet, Tim (Cindy) Price of Wyanet and Bill (Lance Nicholas) Price of Alanta, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Whitney (Noel) Warkins, Nathan (Katelin) Moon, Tyler Gustafson, Drew (Rachel) Gustafson, Jacob (Dana) Gustafson, Derek (Holly) Price and Kole (Kelsey) Price; and 15 great- grandchildren.
She will be remembered for her boundless love, her steadfast support, and her vibrant spirit. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.
Visitation will be held from 10:00am until time of service at 12:00pm on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at the Wyanet United Methodist Church, 112 West Main Street Wyanet, IL 61379 with John Erickson, officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Wyanet.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Wyanet Fire Department, Wyanet United Methodist Church, or Wyanet Rescue Unit.
