Dixon Thomas Metsker was born on November 28, 2024, and passed peacefully in his sleep on December 2, 2025. In his one short year here, he brought constant joy and light to everyone around him. His laugh was infectious, and his personality was growing a little more every day.
Dixon spent most of his time trying to keep up with his big sisters, Ila Jo (4) and Emmy Lou (2). He followed them everywhere; he was determined to be right in the middle of whatever they were doing. He loved being part of their world, and they were so proud of their little brother showing him off to everyone.
He is loved by his parents, Cody and Samantha (Redman) Metsker of Bloomington, WI, and by his grandparents, Rod and Linda Redman of Patch Grove, WI, and Dennis and Chris Metsker of Taylorville, IL. He is also held close in the hearts of his great-grandmother Ruth Redman of Patch Grove, WI, his aunts and uncles Jordan and Destinie Redman of Lancaster, WI, Ben and Kaitlyne Metsker from Kevil, KY, and Ty and Jessa Metsker of Taylorville, IL, and his cousins Whayne, Krislynn, Margaret, Matthew, and Hannah.
He is welcomed in heaven by great-grandparents Larry and Patricia Collins, Don and Margaret Metsker, Raymond and Emma Thomas, and Dick Redman.
Dixon was raised in a family rooted in the western way of life, where folks step up for each other and relationships run deeper than last names. He was loved by more people than he could ever know, already carrying that little cowboy spirit - their tiniest bulldogger, part of a bigger community that stands with him and his family.
His time here was short, but he made a big place in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 8, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Youth & Ag Building at the Grant County Fairgrounds, Lancaster, WI. Family and friends may also visit on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral services at 11:00 a.m., with graveside services to follow at the Union Nagel Cemetery, Patch Grove Township. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Dixon Thomas Metsker Memorial Fund has been established. Kramer-Grau Funeral Homes & Crematory in Bloomington is entrusted with his care.
