Dock Voughn Gipson

Dock "Voughn" Gipson, age 81, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026.

Voughn Gipson was born on March 15, 1945, in Clayton, Georgia, to the late Dock Dial Gipson and the late Ruth Manley Gipson. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose steady presence, quiet strength, and unwavering love for his family left a lasting mark on all who knew him. He lived a life defined not by words, but by actions: showing up, working hard, and taking care of those he loved without hesitation. His legacy is one of resilience, loyalty, and a deep-rooted commitment to family that will carry on through generations.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 39 years, Mary Willene Poss Gipson; and his siblings, Venita Thomas, Marvis Crump, and Noma Shirley.

He is survived by his sons, Hasley (Jessica) Gipson of Dahlonega and 1SG (R) Wesley (Kristen) Gipson of Fort Collins, Colorado; grandchildren, Caroline Gipson, Mary Gipson and Katelyn Gipson of Dahlonega, Parker Gipson, Madelyn Gipson, and Noah Gipson of Fort Collins; along with several friends and other family members who also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. Rev. Bryan Shirley will officiate. Interment will follow in the cemetery of Hightower Baptist Church, where Masonic rites and Military honors will be rendered.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
