Dolores Jane “Daisy” Goldinger left this earth on August 11, 2023. Daisy was born on November 28, 1941, in Butler, Pennsylvania to Tom and Edna Goldinger, known as Gus and Mag to friends and family. Daisy moved to Akron, Ohio as young girl and remained there until her death. Daisy received a master’s degree in Speech and Hearing Therapy from Akron University. Throughout her career with the Hudson School District, Daisy worked with special needs children where she was known for being able to reach autistic children where others were unsuccessful. Daisy was dedicated to her alumni group, Phi Mu, and always enjoyed the camaraderie of her sorority sisters.
Daisy was deeply connected to her family, particularly her sister Donna Huth, who also passed away on August 11th. When Daisy arrived at St. Peter’s gate, she bumped into Donna and said, “What are you doing here, sis?!” It was a great comfort to the family to know that Daisy and Donna joined the heavenly realm hand in hand, making their first stop to see Elvis.
Daisy became a young single mother at a time when that was rare. She adopted Edward “Ed”, when he was five years old, while Donna adopted his brother Scott. In time the sisters agreed that the brothers should be raised together, and Daisy took on the role of mother to both Ed and Scott. Daisy was a no-nonsense mother who raised her sons with intellect. When her sons would throw a fit on the floor, Daisy would hand them a tissue to show she cared then step over them to let them know that she wasn’t having any of it.
Daisy’s dry sense of humor and love for her family will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Mag. Daisy is survived by her two children, Edward Goldinger and Scott Huth. Daisy is also survived by her only grandson Daniel Jonah Goldinger and his fiancé Brianna Jarman. Daniel and Brianna will be married on August 26th, and Daisy’s presence will be missed. Daniel still thinks he loves Daisy more! We are sure that Daisy still disagrees. Daisy is also survived by her brother-in-law, William Huth and his daughter Melissa Hatchett, husband Joe Hatchett, and niece Babette Schom – all of whom hold a special place in Daisy’s heart.

I have known Daisy for many years. When I was doing my student teaching to be a speech and language therapist I had the honor of learning from the best. She taught me so many things and I was honored to work along side her. We even ending up
going to Kure Beach, NC with her boys, my husband and I and our 2 kids. It was so much fun. I recently reconnected with Daisy and we went out to lunch several times. They couldn´t wait until we stopped talking. She was a beautiful
person inside and out . I will miss her but I have beautiful memories to always have.
