Dolores was born on April 1, 1933, in Paris Township, the daughter of Clarence and Adeline (Schroeder) Wallenhorst. She graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy in Dubuque, Iowa. Dolores was united in marriage to Robert H. “Bob” Klein on August 4, 1953, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. They lived in Hawaii until 1955 while Bob was stationed in the Air Force, before moving to Platteville. Bob preceded her in death on February 5, 2019.

Dolores and Bob farmed in Platteville and later settled on the family farm in Dickeyville. Dolores worked on the farm and was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She worked at Advanced Transformer for 15 years. Dolores enjoyed cooking, baking, caring for her flower garden, and doing puzzles. She was an avid reader and Cubs fan. Dolores’ faith was very important to her and she passed this on to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a dedicated member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church and worked for several years at the Dickeyville Grotto gift store. Above all, Dolores loved spending time with her family. She made each grandchild and great-grandchild feel special, and loved attending their events. In her later years, Dolores enjoyed painting Bob’s wood carvings and traveling with her daughters after Bob’s passing. She was a loving person who will be missed by all who knew her.

Dolores is survived by six daughters, Doris Kontos, Verona, WI, Sandy (Gary) Andrews, Cuba City, WI, Jean Brewer, Lancaster, WI, Mary Ann Douglas, Dickeyville, WI, Dianne (Cam) Silvers, Cobb, WI, and Julie Blazkovec, Milwaukee, WI; three sons, Mike (Cindy) Klein, Bernard, IA, Jim (Michelle) Klein, Ellenboro, WI, and Brian (special friend, Justine Argubright) Klein, Dickeyville, WI; a daughter-in-law, Angie Klein, Mineral Point, WI; five sisters, Imelda Reynolds, Kieler, WI, Doris Bussan and Mary Ann Sabers, both of Dubuque, IA, Janet Macaluso, Dickeyville, and Pat Valentine, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Jeanette Wallenhorst and Gloria Wallenhorst, both of Cuba City, WI; 23 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren.
