Dolores McKinnon In Our Care
Evangelist Dolores (Lois) Coachman McKinnon was born on October 31, 1946, in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Bishop James Lee and Mother Nellie Mae Coachman.
Raised in a loving, Christ-centered home, Lois was the second eldest of seven children. At a young age, Dolores accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and made Him
the Lord of her life. Lois was educated in the New York City Public School system. She went on to study at Taylor Business Institute, where she graduated with a degree in
Secretarial Science. She served as an executive secretary for several prestigious companies, including Good Housekeeping, Revlon, and J.P. Morgan. Always a champion for education, Dolores returned to school later in life, earning her Bachelor of Science from St. Francis College in 1999 and her Master of Education in Rehabilitation Counseling from Hofstra University in 2001. She went on to serve as a compassionate vocational rehabilitation counselor with New York State's Education and Assistance Corporation from 2001 until her retirement.
Dolores married Perry J. McKinnon in 1982. Following her retirement, Evangelist McKinnon, now widowed, moved to the Poconos, PA, where she lived with her daughter
and family. She became a faithful member of The Lord Is Exalted Multipurpose Christian Center, serving on the Mother's Board, under the leadership of her son-in-law, Pastor
Christopher DuBose. Evangelist McKinnon entered the presence of the Lord on October 25, 2025. Though her body grew weak, her faith remained strong. Through it all, she never complained.
Mother McKinnon was preceded in death by her parents, Bishop James Lee and Mother Nellie Mae Coachman; her husband, Perry James McKinnon; her siblings, David Coachman, James Lee Coachman Jr. (died in combat in Vietnam), Philip Coachman, and Juanita Coachman; and her great-grandchild, Asaiah DuBose. Left to cherish her precious legacy is her favorite child, Evangelist Shuantise P. Dubose (Pastor Christopher S. Dubose), 3 grandchildren- Christopher Andrew DuBose (Loudania DuBose), Alyssa Charisse Taylor (Christopher Taylor), Jayden Zachary
DuBose, 2 sisters-Deborah Coachman and Rev. Dr. Phyllis Coachman (LaDee Streeter), a god sister Louella (Nuncy) Davis, a goddaughter, Wanda Curry, and a host
of extended family, church members, and dear friends. Although our hearts are heavy, we rejoice in knowing that she fought a good fight, finished her course, and kept the faith. We take comfort in the words of Matthew 25:23- "Well done, thou good and faithful servant enter thou into the joy of thy Lord."
Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday November 5, 2025 in The Lord is Exalted 361 Interchange Road Kresgeville, PA 18333 at 11AM. Viewing will begin at 10AM.
