Dolores "Peggy" Mae Lorenz

Dolores Mae "Peggy" Lorenz, nee Schiller, passed away surrounded by family on April 29, 2024, after a brief illness in Charlotte, NC, at the age of 88. She recently moved from Citrus County, Florida, where she lived after retirement for 33 years. She was born on April 8, 1936, in Attica, NY.

As she was affectionately known, Peggy was resolute in dedicating her life to education from age four. She graduated from Brockport Teachers College in 1957, a testament to her determined commitment. Her passion for teaching touched the lives of many students, inspiring a new generation of educators.

Peggy found joy in various hobbies that showcased her creative spirit and talent. Sewing, quilting, cooking, and crafting were among her favorite pastimes; her creations were proof of her artistic abilities. Her grandchildren spent summers with her, learning to swim. They were never bored and always engaged in the activities she lovingly planned.

Peggy was a woman of patience, joy, and compassion, which endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her family will deeply feel her absence.

She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Frederic Lorenz;  her son, Paul Lorenz (Michelle);  daughter, Ellen Gill (William);  grandson Jaymz Gill (Emma);  grandson Matt Gill;  granddaughter Olivia Lorenz;  and several great-grandchildren.
