Domenic V. Scoglietti, 79, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on the evening of May 11th, 2025.

Domenic was born on August 24th, 1945 to the late Nancy Verri and James Scoglietti. After high school, Domenic initially got into landscaping before establishing his own successful demolition business that’s still running strong today. He was known throughout many Pittsburgh communities as a funny, whimsical guy who worked hard, was determined to always play his numbers on time, and would go out of his way to help anyone in need.

He is loved and missed dearly by his wife, Grace (Heidkamp) Scoglietti, as well as his children, Cindy (Ken) Butera, James Scoglietti, Elaina (Tom) McCullough, Ryan (Katrina) Scoglietti, the late Kristin Scoglietti, Eric (Connie) Scoglietti, Lea (Patrick) Bryan, and his step-children, Stacey (Shawn) Painter, Jesse (Justin) Smith, and James (Kirsty) Padjune. He was the loving pappy of many grandchildren, the beloved brother of Donna and her husband, Arthur Rossi, and beloved uncle to Dawn (Dennis) Salizzoni and Art. Jr. He has many friends and family who will keep his memory alive, and his two loving cats, Magic and Mischief, who will keep his spot on the couch warm.

Dom lived a long, fulfilled life, and he spent his last day with family at a Pittsburgh Pirates baseball game—he even made it onto the jumbotron!  Visitation will be held at WM. SLATER & SONS INC. (412-381-3345) 301 Virginia Ave, Mt. Washington 15211 on  Monday, May 19th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Funeral service on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 11:00 am at the funeral home. If you knew Dom, you know that he never liked to dress up. Everywhere he went, he was in a baseball cap, t-shirt, blue jeans, and boots. Visitors, please dress the way Dom would’ve—in whatever way makes you comfortable, maybe in a pair of jeans, maybe just with something blue, his favorite color. www.slaterfuneral.com
