Dominick Louis Grant, 91, of New Castle passed away on May 14, 2025 at Shenango on the Green in New Wilmington, PA.
Born in New Castle on August 11, 1933, Dom was the son of the late Alfred A. and Angeline R. Aiello Grant.
On August 13, 1952 Dom married his beloved wife of sixty-six years, the former Mary Joanne Russo. Mary preceded him in death on September 5, 2017.
In the early years Dom worked as a Machinist for Pennsylvania Engineering. He became the Founder and Owner of Grant Industrial Supply in 1974. He also owned and operated Pabcor Inc. which he started in 1979.
Dom was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church. He had proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict, 1952 to 1955. Dom served on New Castle City Council from 1974 to 1978. He also served with many other civic organizations and boards including the New Castle Sanitation Authority, New Castle Redevelopment Board, Avalon Nursing Center and Cedarcrest Housing Corporation. Dom always attended and supported New Castle High School Basketball and Football, along with other County school sports teams. He was an avid golfer at Sylvan Heights Golf Course and enjoyed visiting casinos. A loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Dom's greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Dom is survived by his three children, Gary Grant (Rita), Greg Grant (Melinda) and Michelle Newton (Brian), ten grandchildren, Sybil Rossi (James), Marissa Grant, Cara Heinrich (John), Adriana Ramovich, Dano Ramovich (Katie), Jordan Ramovich, Alina Grant, Christopher Grant, Dominick Grant and Kali Hatridge, six great-grandchildren, Melina Rossi, Rocco Rossi, Gunner Heinrich, Cooper Heinrich, Gabriel Hatridge and Elise Hatridge, sister, Barbara DiMuccio, his Companion, Josie Baskeyfield, Uncle Michael Aiello (Ellen), who was like a brother to him and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents and wife, Dom was preceded in death by two sons, Dominick Grant and Anthony Grant, his daughter, Diane Ramovich and his sister, Joanne Walters.
Visitation will be on Sunday 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home on Monday at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church. Father John Gizler will officiate.
Entombment will be in Parkside Mausoleum where the New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Full Military Rites.
