Don Linn Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by King Funeral Home and Crematory - Reedsville on Mar. 20, 2026.
Don A. Linn, 97, of Lewistown, was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Celebration Villa of Reedsville.

Born September 7, 1928, in Reedsville, he was the son of the late Homer Linn and Virginia (Longwell) Wagner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Peggy (Walter) Linn; his stepfather, Lee Wagner; a grandson, Ryan Linn; and his brothers, David and Daniel Wagner.

Don is survived by his devoted children, Suzanne Nearhoof and her husband, Gene, of Lewistown, and Terry Linn and his wife, Susan, of Huntingdon County. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Christopher Wagner and Craig Wagner and his wife, Jennifer; his treasured great-grandchildren, Brooke and Hailey Wagner; and his sister, Bessie Shilling, of Belleville.

A proud patriot, Don honorably and faithfully served his country in the United States Army.

Following his service, he pursued his education at Susquehanna University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in accounting. Don went on to become a respected businessman in the community, owning and operating J & D's Inc. from 1969 until 2020, and also owning Norlin Warehousing in Lewistown.

Don lived a life deeply rooted in faith, service, and community. He was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Lewistown and was actively involved in numerous local organizations including the Lewistown Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the Pipe Dreamers Investment Club, the Kiwanis Club of Lewistown where he proudly served as past president, and the Derry Township Sewer Authority Board. He also enjoyed fellowship and friendly competition as a member and officer of the Seven Mountains Merchant Bowling League.

In his leisure time, Don found great joy in the outdoors. He cherished hunting at Strong Springs Camp, fishing along the Juniata River at his summer cottage, and especially treasured the many vacations he shared with his wife in Myrtle Beach.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at King Funeral Home and Crematory, 47 Carriage House Lane, Reedsville, with Rev. Karen McCachren officiating. A viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.

Interment will follow at Juniata Memorial Park, where military honors will be rendered by the United States Army.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Don's memory may be made to First United Methodist Church, 200 E. Third Street, Lewistown, PA 17044, or to the Mifflin County Library, 123 N. Wayne Street, Lewistown, PA 17044.
