Adalyn Ross Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by King Funeral Home and Crematory - Reedsville on Feb. 6, 2026.
Adalyn Jade "Addie" Ross, 17, was peacefully welcomed into the arms of Jesus on February 4, 2026, at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. Born on October 19, 2008, Addie was a treasured gift to her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She was the beloved daughter of Jason R. and Ashlee T. (Dunkle) Crownover. In addition to her parents, Addie is lovingly survived by her siblings, Ashton J. Crownover, of Clearfield, and Parker J. Crownover and Payson L. Ross, both of Belleville, who shared with her a bond filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. She is also survived by her grandparents, Roberta Hurley, of Hollidaysburg, and Moe Dunkle, widow of the late Douglas Dunkle; her uncle, Stephen T. Dunkle, of Allensville; Dylan Wray, and his family, whose love and support have been a great comfort; her cousins, Douglas and Alexis Dunkle and their children, of Allensville; her godmother, Melissa A. Reed, of State College; and her close friends, Kaysen, Leah, Jocelyn, and Izzy, who meant so very much to her.

Addie was also deeply devoted to her loyal pitbulls, Lucy and Harley, who held a special place in her heart and were constant companions she adored.

Addie will be remembered for her vibrant, outgoing, and bubbly spirit-a true ball of fire whose radiant smile could light up any room. Her boundless energy was infectious, drawing people in and leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. Above all else, Addie's heart was devoted to her family. She never missed an opportunity to show up for those she loved, especially her siblings, whom she supported fiercely and unconditionally.

A dedicated and driven student, Addie was a Junior Honor Roll member at Mifflin County High School, where she proudly served as a cheerleader and competed in Track and Field as both a pole vaulter and sprinter. Her athletic journey began early, as she was also a decorated Level 8 gymnast, training with discipline and passion. Through every challenge, Addie's resilience and determination stood out-qualities that earned her the admiration and respect of teammates and coaches alike. She also served as a dedicated lifeguard in her community at the Juniata Valley YMCA. Outside of school and athletics, Addie loved spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fly fishing, where she treasured the time spent with those who shared her love for the outdoors.

Addie took pride in caring for herself, finding joy in her daily self-care routines and perfecting her nails-she was never seen with anything out of place. She loved warm weather, live concerts, and the sense of peace she felt at the beach, surrounded by those she held dear. A familiar and cherished part of her daily routine was her trip to Dunkin' for an iced coffee, a small joy that brought her comfort and consistency.

With a future full of promise, Addie dreamed of joining the Air Force and pursuing a career in military law. Her ambition, strength, and sense of purpose reflected the remarkable young woman she was becoming. Though her time was far too short, Addie's light, determination, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Locust Grove Mennonite Church, 3358 W. Main St., Belleville. A celebration of Addie's life will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at the church. The family respectfully requests that guests wear pink, as the service will be a "Pink Out" in her honor.

In her final act of selfless love, Addie gave the gift of life through organ donation, saving four lives. Even in passing, her generosity and compassion continue to live on, bringing hope, healing, and renewed life to others-a powerful reflection of the beautiful heart she carried and the lasting legacy she leaves behind.

Arrangements have been entrusted to King Funeral Home and Crematory, 47 Carriage House Lane, Reedsville.

She was a very very sweet girl, I miss having her as a person that I looked up to on varsity cheer. She was genuinely kind and smart. She is missed by a lot of people. -Brianne Beers

We were so sorry to hear of Adalyn's passing. She was a beautiful young lady who left her family too soon. Rest in peace. Deepest sympathy to her family.

I was very blessed to go to church camp with Addie along with being baptized the same day as her giving our lives to Christ. She was a sweet, beautiful and a young woman she was becoming. I'll never forget that everytime Payson needed her big sister for something, she was always there, no questions asked.
