Don McCurry Obituary
Don was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, where he served as a former Deacon and was a member of the Louie Allen Sunday School class.
He worked for Star Press for 20 years and later retired from Coca-Cola after 35 years of service. Don was a member of Number Three Volunteer Fire Department for over 20 years and faithfully provided drinks and snacks to the firemen while out on fire calls.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Kathryn Bridges McCurry; son, Gene McCurry (Tamara); daughter, Ann Thackerson (Bobby); grandchildren Josh Thackerson (Mandy), Katie Turner (Austin), Courtney McCurry, Cody McCurry (Emily); great-grandchildren Ally, Brody and Colby Thackerson, Micah and Millie Turner; sisters Jo Hester and Jane Harris. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Bill McCurry, Bruce McCurry, Clifford McCurry; and sisters, Elizabeth Debrew and Catherine Standridge.
A Graveside service will be Saturday, March 4th at 2:00pm in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Earl. Visitation will follow the service, in the cemetery.

My thoughts and prayers are with each of you during this difficult time. I worked with Don years ago at Coca-Cola and met his entire family at that time. I later re-met Gene thru his work and also thru Tamara. Please hold all your precious memories of family and fun times shared with Don. God bless each of you now and in the coming days.
