Don Shelor

Mr. Donald Wayne "Don" Shelor, 74, resident of Greensboro, died October 2, 2025, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.

He was born March 22, 1951, in Stokes County, a son to the late Paul and Allie Virginia Gammons Shelor. Don was a resident of this area most of his life and served his country in the United States Army, Retired. He also retired from Valor Security. He enjoyed many years of bowling and was an avid car enthusiast. Don is survived by his wife of 21 years, Debra Shelor.

Also surviving are three daughters, Rhonda Ann Whitt (Mark) of Fayetteville, Shelly Renee King of Jacksonville, NC, and Amanda Rose Moyers of Miles City, MT; son, Adam Herschel Spurlock (Jena) of Summerville, SC; a sister, Angela Christy Newberry of High Point, NC; two brothers, Ronald William Shelor and James Lee Newberry (Sabrina) both of High Point; two nephews, Dustin Lee Newberry and Zachary Robert Ulrich; several grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Funeral services with military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 7, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with Rev. Roger Carmichael officiating. Interment will follow at State Line Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Westfield, NC. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Monday, October 6, at the funeral home.
