Abbeville- A Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Father Nicholas Dupré will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 3, 2025 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Abbeville LA, honoring the life of Dona Marie Meaux, 82, who passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.
A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home on Friday, January 3, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 1:45 PM, with a Rosary being prayed at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.
Dona was a devoted wife and mother who loved her family deeply. She enjoyed playing bingo, pokeno, and watching her game shows. Even though Dona will be greatly missed, she is finally resting and dancing with Aveneal to Rose Colored Glasses.
She is survived by her two daughters, Tonya Goutierrez (Brian); Shelly Meaux, and one son, Bobby Meaux (Lisa); grandchildren, Keith, Mandy, Leah, Megan, Jacqulyne, Dylan, Trey, Kensie, Lena, Logan; 15 great grandchildren. Also, her caregiver who became family Kittie Durman.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Aveneal Meaux, Jr, her parents John and Dorothy Schleicher, and her brother Robert Wismer.
Pallbearers will be Trey d'Augereau, Logan Issa, Owen d'Augereau, AJ Pfeil, Cody Pfeil, and Beaux Pfeil.
All funeral arrangements are being conducted by Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville (337) 893-4661.
