Donald Applegate Obituary
Donald, was born in Bracken County, Kentucky October 1, 1941 to the late Fred and Mary Boling Applegate. Donald worked for General Motors in Detroit, Michigan for 15 years. He enjoyed tinkering with his cars and loved playing with his grandchildren and being with his family.
Preceded Donald in death beside his parents was a son Donnie Applegate, sisters- Judy Sweet, Gladys Fredrick, Bessie Myers, Frannie Brooks and Delores Hick. Brothers- Cecil, Tom, Fred Allen, Ronnie, Harold Lloyd, and Kenny Applegate.
Left to cherish Donald's memories is his wife of 47 years whom he married May 17, 1977 Linda Sexton Applegate of Vanceburg, Ky.
Two Daughters- Mandie (Chad) Sizemore of Vanceburg, Ky., Angie (Larry) Speckner of Tampa, Florida.
Two sons- Jason Applegate and (Sarah Gibson) of Lexington, Ky., Josh Applegate and his fiancé Angela Brock of Flemingsburg, Ky.
Three grandchildren- Lexie Sizemore, Ethan Sizemore, and Jaxon Sizemore.
Sister- Ilene Bailey of Irvine Ky.
Brothers- Robert Applegate of Tollesboro, Ky., Stanley (Kellie) Applegate of Sharonville, Ohio.
Visitation will be Friday September 27, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Gaydos Funeral Home 159 2nd street Vanceburg, Ky. 41179.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. September 27, 2024 at the Gaydos Funeral Home with Brother Wes Cooper officiating.
