Donald Auld Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lee-Ramsay - Gladwin Chapel on Mar. 31, 2025.
Donald R. "Don" Auld, a cherished family man passed away peacefully at the Horizon Senior Center in Gladwin, Michigan, on March 27, 2025, following a lengthy illness. His parents were Hugh and Jean (Porter) Auld, he was born on September 14, 1940, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Don's life was marked by his kind spirit, thoughtful nature, and a zest for life that was truly infectious.
Don's early years in Ann Arbor laid a strong foundation for the man he would become. After graduating from high school and some college and serving in the U. S. Air Force. He embarked on a career that would span several decades with Detroit Edison Power, where he worked diligently as a lineman. His commitment to his work was second only to his dedication to his family, and upon retirement, he relocated to Newberry to embrace the great outdoors which he dearly loved.
Family was the cornerstone of Don's life. He was a devoted father to his children, Christine (James) Levier, James Auld, and Dorraine Gardner. His role as a grandfather to Brittney, Andrea, Anthony, and Maia was one he cherished with all his heart. Don's love for his family was evident in every action and decision he made, and his legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on through them.
An avid motorcyclist, Don found great joy in hitting the open road, feeling the wind against his face, and enjoying the freedom that came with each ride. His spirited nature was often seen in his love for adventure and the way he embraced every moment with enthusiasm.
Those who knew Don will remember him as a man who was always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a word of encouragement. His thoughtful ways made him a beacon of light in the lives of many, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place.
