Donald Balthaser

Donald C. Balthaser, "Jeff", 88, of Newmanstown, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025 in his residence. He was the husband of Ginny K. (Reed) Balthaser. They were married on May 6, 1967 and celebrated fifty-eight years of marriage.
Born in Strausstown, he was the son of the late Leroy and Pearl E. (Potteiger) Balthaser. He graduated from Hamburg High School and attended Albright College. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Donald owned and operated Balthaser Garage and Mini-Mart for many years. He also worked for Leffler Fuels and drove for Quest Diagnostics. Donald loved cars, NASCAR, racing, and was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a member of Vaux Lodge #406 F&AM, Hamburg.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children: Cale T. Balthaser, husband of Anne (Wilson) Balthaser, Strausstown; and Kristel L. (Balthaser) Weidner, Colorado Springs; four grandchildren: Taylor, Austin, Bailey and Justin; and two great-grandchildren: Mave and Carlisle. Donald is also survived by his twin sister: Donna E. (Balthaser) Grime, Strausstown.
