Glenn Paul Balthaser Jr.

Glenn Paul Balthaser, Jr., 74, of Lebanon, PA passed away peacefully with family by his side on January 16, 2026, in WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born on December 15, 1951, in Harrisburg, PA to the late Glenn Paul, Sr. and Dorothy V. (Deimler) Balthaser.
Glenn was a 1969 graduate of Eastern Lebanon High School where he excelled in athletics, earning several championships in wrestling, soccer, and golf. He retired from SWM International, also having worked at Supreme Corp and DelStar Technologies, Inc. He was an avid collector of sports cards and Hot Wheels.
Having been inspired early in life by Mitch Miller & Tennessee Ernie Ford, Glenn knew that music would always be a major part of his life. His playing style and musical passion was influenced by bands like the Who, Led Zeppelin, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Glenn spent much of his life playing for many different bands including Heaven & Earth, Steph, 50/50, Onyx, Aura, and Zeus. Most notably, Glenn was the bass player in Flamin' Dick & the Hot Rods, having been a founding member in 1985. His heart and soulful bass playing, combined with his harmonies, continued to be the backbone of the band for over 40 years.
Glenn was survived by step-son, Joshua Reager, (husband of Rachel) and nephew, Shawn Bathaser, (husband of Amanda) both whom he loved like his own sons; his cousin David Sweigert, whom was like a brother; a sister, Constance "Connie" Hess wife of Paul; a brother, Irvin "Sonny" Balthaser (husband of Teresa); several nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings, Robin "Sissy" Balthaser and Thomas Balthaser.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 11 AM at Grose Funeral Home, Inc., 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, PA 17067, with Reverend Jeff Kapp officiating. Viewing will be from 9 AM until time of the service. Following the service, the family welcomes everyone for a celebration of life and the opportunity to share stories and memories. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Grandview Memorial Park, Annville.
