Donald Blasing Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service on Aug. 3, 2024.
Donald "Don" A. Blasing, 68, passed away on August 1, 2024. Donald Allen Blasing was born on July 22, 1956, in Watertown, the son of Alburn and Myrna (Vaughn) Blasing. He attended Watertown High School.
He led a life marked by hard work, dedication, and a deep passion for his interests. His career spanned various roles, including his time at Rotadyne, Waukesha Motors, and Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services. He also owned and operated D&D's Small Engine Repair, combining his love for small engine repair with his entrepreneurial spirit.
Don loved being outdoors, was an avid hunter of deer and duck, and a member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed riding his six-wheeler and camping up north. He was very talented and passionate about small engine repair, even owning a business dedicated to it. Above all, Don's family was most important, and he loved them very dearly.
Don is survived by his loving companion, his dog Ellie; his children Kevin (Cassandra) Blasing, Kristina (Richard) Rutledge, and Tamara (Nick) Kiser; his grandchildren Casey, Davion, Justin, Ethan, Nevaeh, Destiny, and Greyson; his sister Bonnie Strege; close friends Tom (Julie) Gaugert, Ed Kuck, and Dale Lowney; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Don was preceded in death by his parents and his faithful companion, Sparky.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown at 1 p.m., with Reverend Ray Bezanson officiating. Family and friends are invited before the service for a visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service will be serving the family.
