TP White & Sons Funeral HomeThe world lost a bright light when Mary L. Blasing, known to most as "Lennie," passed away in her home on September 26, 2025.
To know Lennie was to know selflessness. She had a heart that overflowed with compassion and a spirit that never stopped moving-if you needed something done, Lennie was already there making it happen. She lived her life in service to others, whether through her 35 years teaching Physical Education at Wilson Elementary, her dedication to charitable events like St. Nick at McNick, or simply being the person family and friends could always count on.
Lennie also lived with an incredible zest for life. She found joy in life's simple but beautiful moments: long walks on the beach, laughter with her "Clubbers" friends, evenings of live music and dancing. She was known for her bold, colorful fashion sense that matched her vibrant personality, and she was always the life of the party.
Lennie was always there for her family. She was the beloved wife of Daniel D. Blasing, the proud mother of Zach (Katie) Blasing, and the adoring "Ghia" to James and Charlotte. Daughter of the late Joesph and Bernice. Dear sister of Russell, Stephanie, Julie and the late Joseph and Roberta.
Lennie's legacy is one of love in action-quiet but powerful, always putting others before herself. She leaves behind countless lives touched by her generosity and a family who will carry her spirit with them forever. Lennie will always be remembered for her warmth, compassion, sparkle, generosity, and for her true love of life.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Guardian Angels Church, 6539 Beechmont Ave., on Thursday, October 16th at 10:30AM with a visitation at the church from 9-10:30AM on Thursday.
Her family and friends take comfort knowing that somewhere above, Lennie is dancing, laughing, and reminding us all that life is good and to live it fully.
