Donald Cressey, 81, of Valdosta, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, March 14, 2025, at South Georgia Medical Center. Donald was born in Boston, MA to the late Stanley Cressey and Thelma Nelson Pearce. He honorably served 4 years in the United States Air Force, before working for the USPS for 30 years as a postal clerk. After retirement he moved to Valdosta with his wife of 57 years, Janet Cressey. Donald enjoyed bowling, golfing, softball, swimming and spending time with his family at the pool.
Donald is survived by his wife Janet Fairbanks Cressey, of Valdosta; son William Cressey, of Valdosta; daughter Donna Dauphinais (Dale), of Valdosta; daughter Debra Cressey, of Valdosta; son, Brian Cressey (Theresa), of Valdosta; his grandchildren, Michael Dauphinais (Lyndsay) of California, Kelsey Elias, of Florida, Alicia Fabian (Rob), of Valdosta, and Jerrell Scott, of Valdosta; his great grandchildren, Adelie Elias, Isla Elias, Raelynn Dauphinais, Tilan Dauphinais, and two Fabian great grandchildren; his brother Stanley Cressey (Terry); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A gathering to celebrate Donald’s life will be held at 1pm on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the American Heart Association.
