Donald Anthony D'Atri

Donald A. D'Atri, 89, of Cumberland passed away June 28, 2024 at Sterling Care in Frostburg, MD and will be sadly missed.
He was born in Cumberland on July 14, 1934 to the late Dominic and Helen (Robinette) D'Atri. In addition to his parents he was proceeded in death by his wife of 60 years, Shirley Ann (Boswell) D'atri; a brother David D'Atri of Florida; as well as mother-in-law Norma and father-in-law Paul Nycum.
Donald graduated from Fort Hill High School in the Class of 1953. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and sailed on the U.S.S. Orion out of Norfolk, VA. After he worked at the Celanese, Allegany Ballistics Laboratory, Kelly Springfield Tire Co., and Allegany Tech. He was a real craftsmen in every part of his life as a machinist, carpenter, mechanic and Sheet metalworker.
He is survived by his daughter Tammy Lynn (D'Atri) Gordon and husband Roger; his sister-in-laws, Barbara D'Atri and Rita Hardy and her husband Lynn; and a very large extended family with grandchildren-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In accordance with his wishes he will be cremated and privately buried with his wife in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap, Flintstone, MD.
