It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Donald "Donnie" Wayne Davis Sr., age 65, who left us on Saturday, February 15, 2025. Donnie was born on October 12, 1959, in Baytown, Texas, to Hubert Garland Davis Jr. and Barbara Jean Davis. He was a proud graduate of C.E. King High School, Class of 1978.
Unlike many in his family who followed in the footsteps of pipefitters, Donnie forged his own path and became a valued member of the International Longshoreman Association Local 24 Union. Over the course of more than 35 years, Donnie dedicated himself to his work, starting from the ground up, and he touched the lives of many through his service to his brothers and sisters in the union.
Donnie was an avid outdoorsman, with a deep love for hunting and fishing. He was also a fan of various television shows, including The History Channel, How it Works, MythBusters, Pawn Stars, Andy Griffith, Bonanza, Gunsmoke, and many more Westerns. He also enjoyed watching sports in his spare time.
More than anything, Donnie was a man with a heart full of generosity. He always put others before himself, extending his help to strangers in need whenever possible. His kindness and selflessness will be remembered by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Garland Davis Jr. and Barbara Jean Davis; siblings Carolyn Haynes, Edward "Eddie" Davis, Michael "Mike" Davis, Lejeana Davis, and Deborah Davis; and nieces Heather Nicole Bradshaw and Christopher Michael Davis.
Donnie is survived by his children, Katherine and husband CJ Crow, Joshua and wife Morgan Davis, and D.J. Davis; his beautiful grandchildren, June Crow, Winston Davis, and Makenzie Davis; his siblings, Hubert Garland Davis III and Teresa and husband Don Hunt; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
