Donald Eugene Davis, Sr., known to friends and family as "Gene," passed away on September 18, 2025. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Gene was a lifelong resident of Gwinnett County with deep roots in Lawrenceville, Georgia. He attended Sunny Hill School and then Lawrenceville High School, which is now known as Central Gwinnett High School. He went on to own his own business, "Gene Davis Alignment." Later, he dedicated 15 years of his career to Gwinnett County Fleet Management serving as Superintendent before retiring and moving to Winder, Georgia. Gene was a member of Lawrenceville Masonic Lodge and was recently honored with his 50-year pin, celebrating five decades of membership, brotherhood, and service."

Gene's deep faith in God and his love for Jesus were central to his life, guiding all his actions and relationships. Gene was a member of North Metro Baptist Church. While he spent his career repairing cars, his true passion was lending the peace of his presence and the joy of his laughter to those around him. The unwavering love and support he gave his family were a testament to his deep, abiding faith. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of Jesus's love will live on through his children and grandchildren, whose smiles he lived for.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Albert Davis Jr., and mother Mammy Farris Morgan. Gene is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Fay Davis; his children, Donald Eugene Davis Jr. (wife Lisa Davis), Darryl Edward Davis, and Kimberly Beth McCormick (husband Brandon McCormick); and his grandchildren, Derek Esmond Davis (wife Savannah Davis), Dillon Eli Davis, Jeannie Wright, Sabrina Davis, Storie Amor McCormick, and Ever Adeen McCormick.

A celebration of life memorial will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Prospect United Methodist Church, 1549 Prospect Rd, Lawrenceville, GA 30043, with Rev. Donnie Joe Davis officiating. A reception will follow in the church's fellowship hall, and all are invited to attend and share memories of Gene with the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Lawrenceville Masonic Lodge No. 131, F&AM. 455 Perry St, 303 S Perry St, Lawrenceville, GA 30046. Donations are used to help serve the community, a cause that was near and dear to his heart.
