Donald Lee DeWitt, 59, of Oakland, passed away on September 28, 2023, at his home. Born on March 15, 1964, in Westminster, he was the son of Clyde DeWitt of Oakland and the late Genevieve (Thomas) DeWitt.
Donald was a graduate of Southern High School and pursued a career as an equipment operator for the Maryland State Highway Administration. He enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and restoring muscle cars.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Karen (Lewis) DeWitt; five siblings, Jeffrey DeWitt and wife Audrey, Clyde DeWitt Jr. and wife Barbara, Randy DeWitt and wife Denise, Todd DeWitt and wife Kristina, and Heather DeWitt all of Oakland; and many very special nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Friends with be received at C & S Fredlock Funeral Home P.A. 21 N 2nd St Oakland on Sunday October 1, 2023, from 2 to 6 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday October 2, 2023, at 11 AM with Pastor Michael Saturday Officiating. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Taylor-Sines Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, may be made to Hospice of Garrett County PO Box 271, Oakland, MD 21550.
