Donald "Don" R. Barber, age 87 of Dayton, Ohio passed away peacefully with his family by his side on November 16, 2024. He was born October 3, 1937 in Shelbyville, Kentucky son of the late Raymond and Hallie Barber.
Don was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Don was a man of Prayer and Jesus was his Lord and Savior.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Patty Barber; siblings, Anna (Boyd) Armstrong, Jerry (Vernon) Murray, Bob Barber, Linda (W.S.) Burton, and Jimmy Barber.
He is survived by his children, Mindy (Michael) Jones, Tony (Peggy) Barber, Jeff Barber and Chris (Rachelle) Barber; granddaughter, Brianna Barber; sister-in-laws, Betty, Marian, and Eva; several nieces and nephews; close family members Brenda and Randy Lloyd and family; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 9:30am-10:30am at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424. A funeral service will begin at 10:30am also at the funeral home with burial to follow at Dayton Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions can be made in Dons honor to Hospice of Dayton.
