Donald Andrew Fanelle, 82, of Mount Laurel, New Jersey, passed away on January 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born and raised in Camden, New Jersey to the late Vito and Dorothy (nee Holmes) Fanelle, Donald was a longtime resident of Mount Laurel and parishioner of Our Lady of Good Counsel. Donald received his bachelor's degree in education from West Chester State in 1964 and went on to receive his master's degree in Music from Trenton State College in 1969. Prior to retiring, Donald was a devoted teacher, band director and supervisor of the Music Department in Willingboro School District. This was not just a career for Donald...music was his passion. He was also a professional trumpet player and well known in the music industry. After retirement Donald enjoyed staying connected while working at City Music in Burlington, repairing instruments. He was a member of the NEA, NJEA, BCEA, WEA, American Federation of Musicians, Music Educators National Conference and the National Association of Jazz Educators.
A kind and hard-working man, Donald was the true definition of a gentleman. He was devoted to his family and there was nothing more that he enjoyed than family gatherings. He will truly be missed by those that loved him.
Beloved husband of the late Linda (Albright) Fanelle; devoted father of Michael (Teresa) Fanelle and Christine (Jim) Ewing; cherished grandfather of Donna, Jennifer, Timothy, Grace and Ryan; dear brother of Dorothy Brown and loving uncle of Kim Folkens and the late Kevin Brown.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Donald's viewing on Friday, February 14, 2025, 9:00 - 11:00 AM at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, New Jersey where the Funeral Ceremony will follow at 11:00 AM.
